Holland America Line Entertainment

Cruise enthusiasts, get ready for an unforgettable experience as Holland America Line introduces a revamped entertainment lineup for 2024. With a mix of new mainstage productions and region-specific performances, the cruise line aims to offer a dynamic and immersive experience for its guests.

Let's dive into the exciting new offerings that promise to make every voyage an extraordinary adventure.

Fresh Mainstage Productions: A New Era of Cruise Entertainment

Holland America Line is redefining cruise entertainment with the debut of four innovative mainstage shows.

These new productions, which started in February 2024, promise to captivate audiences with their unique blend of singing, dancing, and vibrant storytelling.

  • Song & Dance: This show takes guests behind the scenes to a studio backlot where two leading men perform a spectacular concert featuring musical numbers from Broadway, Hollywood, and beyond. It's a celebration of iconic tunes and dazzling choreography.
  • Class Act: Bringing the glamour of Las Vegas to the high seas, "Class Act" pays homage to legendary female performers of the concert and nightclub stage. This elaborate production promises glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances.
  • All That!: Step back in time with this nostalgic variety show inspired by classic TV programs of the '60s, '70s, and '80s. The headliners will entertain with a mix of singing, dancing, and comedy, offering a delightful trip down memory lane.
  • Hey, Mr. DJ: Travel through the decades with this lively concert, where iconic radio DJs introduce hit songs from the '60s to today. It's a celebration of pop music that will have everyone on their feet.

These shows will anchor the entertainment programming on several ships, starting with Eurodam in February, followed by Rotterdam, Zuiderdam, and Nieuw Statendam by the end of June. More ships will follow, ensuring that guests on various itineraries can enjoy these spectacular performances.

Region-Specific Performances: Celebrating Local Culture

In addition to the mainstage productions, Holland America Line is introducing performances tailored to the regions where their ships are sailing. This approach ensures that guests can immerse themselves in the local culture and traditions of their destinations.

Caribbean Cruises

Guests aboard Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, and Eurodam can enjoy "Island Magic," a unique orchestral steel drum concert that blends traditional island sounds with classical and pop music.

Canada and New England Cruises

"Breton Thunder," an authentic Nova Scotia music experience, will debut on Volendam and Zuiderdam, highlighting the region's rich European roots.

European Cruises

Passengers on Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam, and Zuiderdam will be treated to classical string music by the Chordial Chamber Trio and the powerful vocals of Pantheon, a group of dynamic European tenors.

Alaska Cruises

The Step One Dance Company will continue to mesmerise guests with their innovative choreography and artistic video projections. Additionally, "Destination: Alaska" will inspire guests with highlights of shore excursions and immersive experiences tailored to this breathtaking region.

Enhanced Music Venues: A Feast for the Ears

Beyond the mainstage and region-specific shows, Holland America Line is enhancing its popular music venues to provide an even richer auditory experience. The Rolling Stone Lounge, which features a seven-piece band playing rock, pop, and R&B, is being added to more ships. Billboard Onboard will continue to delight with its updated piano bar concept, offering different music themes each evening. Meanwhile, B.B. King's Blues Club remains a central feature, bringing soulful blues to life on several ships.

Bill Prince, vice president of entertainment and enrichment at Holland America Line, expressed his excitement about these new developments: "Over the past several years we've built one of the strongest entertainment experiences at sea, working with world-class musicians and dancers. Adding these new theatre experiences continues to build on our momentum."
