Starting in January 2025, the cruise line will introduce a fresh slate of entertainment on its Grand Voyages, with 15 new production shows making their debut on the Grand World Voyage and Grand Voyage: Pole to Pole.
Developed by acclaimed producer Blackburn International, the new entertainment line-up by Holland America Line is designed to captivate guests throughout their journey. Each Grand Voyage will feature a cast of eight accomplished singers and dancers performing in 15 distinct shows. These productions will pay tribute to iconic pop and rock artists such as Carole King, the Carpenters, Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac. With titles like "The Sounds of Summer," "Solid Gold," and "Crossroads," the variety ensures there’s something for every musical taste.
Bill Prince, vice president of entertainment for Holland America Line, expressed his excitement: "Holland America Line has never introduced this many shows at one time. The Grand Voyages are the longest itineraries we offer and it's important to keep the entertainment fresh for our returning guests. The new shows are a diverse collection of music genres to appeal to a wide variety of tastes."
The new production shows are just the beginning of the enhanced onboard experience. The Grand Voyages will also feature comedians, headline entertainers, and performers sourced locally. Resident musicians, including a classical trio and a dance band, will enrich the entertainment offerings on both ships.
Guests will also have the opportunity to engage with guest chefs who specialise in regional cuisine. These chefs will join select segments of the voyages, offering live cooking demonstrations, participating in informative "coffee chats," and hosting exclusive dinners at the Pinnacle Grill. Their signature dishes will be highlighted on the Dining Room menu, providing a unique culinary experience.
For those looking to expand their horizons, the Grand Voyages offer a plethora of enriching activities. Guests can participate in dance classes like ballroom or beginners' ballet, arts and crafts sessions including watercolour painting and origami, pickleball lessons, and tai chi on deck. Each activity is designed to enhance the onboard experience and offer something for everyone.
The 2025 Grand Voyages will take guests on extraordinary journeys. The Zuiderdam will embark on a 124-day Grand World Voyage, departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and visiting 49 ports in 30 countries across six continents. Meanwhile, the Volendam will sail a 133-day Grand Voyage: Pole to Pole, also from Fort Lauderdale, travelling from South America to Antarctica and then up to the Arctic, covering 69 ports across five continents and 26 countries.
A highlight of these voyages will be the historic meetup of the Zuiderdam and Volendam in Barcelona, Spain, on April 24, 2025. This special event will be commemorated with a Catalan-themed dinner on each ship, deck parties, and guest reunion opportunities as the ships overnight in port.
For those unable to commit to the full voyage, shorter segments are available for booking. These segments allow guests to experience part of the grand adventure, with options ranging from 20 to 100 days.
Holland America Line is offering a Grand Voyage Early Booking Bonus for guests who book the full 133-day Grand Voyage: Pole to Pole or 124-day Grand World Voyage by August 19, 2024. These perks include onboard spending credits and amenities valued up to $8,800 or $8,500 per person, respectively. Additional bonuses include a free Surf Wi-Fi package, a $500 air credit per person if booked through Flight Ease, and free roundtrip airport transfers. Certain stateroom categories will also include free luggage delivery service, prepaid crew appreciation, and laundry/dry cleaning services.
Guests booking segments of either Grand Voyage by August 19, 2024, will also receive perks such as onboard credits, free Wi-Fi, and free laundry services. Mariners who have sailed on previous Grand Voyages will enjoy an additional discount.
