Norwegian Cruise Line is turning up the heat for spring and summer with its newest ship, Norwegian Aqua, making a lively debut at Port Canaveral. As the first ship in NCL's Prima Plus Class, Norwegian Aqua brings together high-tech thrills, dynamic entertainment, serene relaxation zones, and sun-drenched Caribbean itineraries that are sure to appeal to travellers seeking the ultimate balance of excitement and escape.
A Bold New Beginning from Port Canaveral
With summer cruise season kicking off in spectacular style, Norwegian Aqua has officially begun her inaugural season sailing seven-night Caribbean voyages out of Port Canaveral. This vibrant new homeport was carefully selected thanks to its accessibility and proximity to iconic attractions—making it easy for both international and domestic guests to extend their holiday beyond the cruise itself.
Sailing Through the Caribbean Sunshine
Norwegian Aqua's week-long Eastern Caribbean itineraries whisk guests away to Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and NCL's private Bahamian paradise, Great Stirrup Cay. From now through August 2025, each voyage delivers postcard-worthy scenery and unforgettable adventures—whether you're snorkelling in turquoise waters or simply lounging poolside with a cocktail in hand.
Great Stirrup Cay will soon undergo exciting upgrades, including a new multi-ship pier, family-friendly splash zone, heated pool, and a swim-up bar. These enhancements, expected in late 2025, aim to elevate the experience further and ensure there's something for every generation to enjoy.
Innovation on the High Seas
At the heart of Norwegian Aqua’s allure is the Aqua Slidecoaster, the world's first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide. This top-deck sensation has captured imaginations on social media and beyond, thrilling riders as they race through three decks with high-speed twists and dual-slide excitement. It’s a unique highlight that truly distinguishes Norwegian Aqua from anything else at sea.
Other onboard innovations include the futuristic Glow Court, a digital sports complex that features an interactive LED floor for games by day and transforms into an electrified club by night. Families will also love the Aqua Game Zone, a multigenerational hangout space packed with retro arcade hits, virtual reality challenges, and classic carnival favourites.
Elevated Entertainment Experiences
Norwegian Cruise Line is known for its high-calibre entertainment, and Norwegian Aqua raises the curtain even higher.
Tribute to a Music Legend
The headline act aboard Norwegian Aqua is Revolution: A Celebration of Prince, a dazzling theatrical concert experience developed in-house with top-tier creative talent. This immersive tribute to the iconic performer has received early acclaim, with unforgettable renditions of "Purple Rain," "When Doves Cry," and more lighting up the main stage.
Diverse Shows for Every Guest
Complementing the Prince tribute are other standout shows like Elements: The World Expanded, an acrobatic, visual, and magical experience rooted in the four classical elements. For a dose of playful competition, guests can take part in interactive productions such as The Price Is Right LIVE, offering game show fun at sea.
These performances are part of a broader entertainment lineup designed to cater to a variety of tastes—whether you're into high-energy dance numbers or intimate musical acts.
Culinary Discoveries Onboard
Dining aboard Norwegian Aqua is an adventure in its own right, with 17 restaurants offering an eclectic range of cuisines and atmospheres.
New Flavours to Savour
For lovers of bold, authentic dishes, Sukhothai, the new specialty Thai venue, delivers aromatic curries, fragrant herbs, and fresh textures in an upscale setting. Meanwhile, Indulge—the ship’s 10-station food hall—debuts NCL’s first plant-based eatery, satisfying the growing demand for sustainable and health-conscious options.
Toast-Worthy Moments
With 18 bars and lounges, guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to refreshments. At the Metropolitan Bar, travellers can sip on eco-conscious cocktails, thoughtfully crafted with sustainable spirits and garnishes, while other venues serve up global wine selections, tropical concoctions, and classic favourites—all included in the More At Sea package.
Spaces for Serenity and Sun
Norwegian Aqua balances its high-octane features with plenty of opportunities to relax and recharge.
Poolside and Beyond
The newly expanded pool deck is ideal for lazy afternoons in the sun, while the Vibe Beach Club, exclusively for adults, offers a more secluded atmosphere with upgraded loungers, private cabanas, and attentive service. For deeper relaxation, the Mandara Spa and Salon features indulgent treatments and a rejuvenating thermal suite that includes heated loungers, steam and ice rooms, and saunas—now with a new clay sauna experience.
Spacious and Stylish Design
As the first ship in the Prima Plus Class, Norwegian Aqua is 10% larger than her predecessors, Norwegian Prima and Viva. With a length of 1,056 feet and capacity for 3,571 guests at double occupancy, the ship feels more expansive and guest-friendly. High staffing levels ensure personalised service across every touchpoint, from staterooms to specialty venues.
Cruise Beyond Port Canaveral
After Norwegian Aqua completes her initial Caribbean season from Port Canaveral, she’ll reposition to New York City in August 2025 for a limited run of five- and seven-day Bermuda itineraries through October. From there, she returns to Miami to kick off her next series of Eastern Caribbean adventures from October 2025 through April 2026.
