Celebrity Opens 2028-2029 Australia and Asia Cruise Season 9:56 The season includes 23 voyages departing from Sydney or Auckland, with itineraries ranging from four to 14 nights aboard[**Celebrity**](https://www.celebritycruises.com/au) Edge and Celebrity Solstice. Further north, Celebrity Millennium will operate seasonal Japan cruises, while Celebrity Solstice and Millennium will sail in Southeast Asia during winter. The schedule gives travellers several distinct ways to approach the region. Sydney and Auckland departures sit alongside Japan voyages timed around spring and autumn, while Southeast Asia brings Bangkok, Bali, Hanoi, and further destinations into the programme. ![Celebrity New Zealand Fjords](https://blog.swblack.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Celebrity%20New%20Zealand%20Fjords.png?width=795&height=447&name=Celebrity%20New%20Zealand%20Fjords.png) [Image courtesy of Celebrity Cruises](https://www.celebritycruises.com/au/cruises?search=startDate:2028-10-01~2028-10-31,2028-11-01~2028-11-30,2028-12-01~2028-12-31,2029-01-01~2029-01-31,2029-02-01~2029-02-28,2029-03-01~2029-03-31,2029-04-01~2029-04-30|visiting:OCAN&country=AUS¤cy=AUD) ## Sydney and Auckland Anchor a 23-Voyage Programme Celebrity's regional season includes 23 voyages departing from either Sydney or Auckland. Across those sailings, cruise lengths range from four to 14 nights, giving travellers several durations to consider. Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice will operate these voyages. The combination of two departure cities, two ships, and different cruise lengths creates several practical factors to compare before choosing a sailing. ### **Sydney and Auckland Provide Two Departure Points** The 23 voyages will depart from either Sydney or Auckland. Having two departure cities gives travellers different starting points when comparing the announced programme. Your preferred departure port will influence the wider travel arrangements surrounding the cruise. Flights, pre-cruise stays, and onward travel all become part of the decision when choosing between individual sailings. The supplied announcement does not specify how the 23 voyages are divided between Sydney and Auckland. Individual itineraries will therefore provide the details needed to match a departure city with your preferred dates. ### Voyages Range from Four to 14 Nights Cruise lengths stretch from four nights at the shorter end to 14 nights at the longer end. This gives travellers a broad range of durations within the announced Sydney and Auckland departures. A shorter sailing fits a different type of travel plan from a two-week voyage. Travellers combining a cruise with time ashore might place greater emphasis on duration when narrowing their options. The number of nights, therefore, provides a useful starting point for comparing the 23 voyages. Departure city, ship, and itinerary provide the next layers of detail. ### Celebrity Edge and Solstice Share the Programme Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice will both operate among the 23 voyages departing from Sydney or Auckland. Travellers therefore have two Celebrity ships to consider alongside travel date and cruise length. The supplied source does not provide a ship-by-ship breakdown of those departures. It also does not list the individual ports included on each voyage. For prospective guests, checking the specific sailing remains important. Comparing the ship, departure point, duration, and itinerary together provides a clearer basis for choosing between voyages. ## Japan Sailings Follow Two Seasonal Periods Celebrity is also planning spring and autumn cruises in Japan aboard Celebrity Millennium. The schedule gives travellers two distinct seasonal periods to consider rather than one continuous set of departures. Celebrity associates the spring programme with cherry blossom season and the autumn programme with hibiscus season. Those seasonal settings add another factor to consider alongside travel dates and the individual itinerary. ![Celebrity Eden Australia](https://blog.swblack.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Celebrity%20Eden%20Australia.png?width=795&height=447&name=Celebrity%20Eden%20Australia.png) [Image courtesy of Celebrity Cruises](https://www.celebritycruises.com/au/cruises?search=startDate:2028-10-01~2028-10-31,2028-11-01~2028-11-30,2028-12-01~2028-12-31,2029-01-01~2029-01-31,2029-02-01~2029-02-28,2029-03-01~2029-03-31,2029-04-01~2029-04-30|visiting:OCAN&country=AUS¤cy=AUD) ### Celebrity Millennium Takes the Japan Programme Celebrity Millennium will operate the announced Japan sailings. The ship is scheduled to sail in the country during both spring and autumn. Using the same vessel across both periods gives travellers a consistent ship choice while allowing them to compare two different times of year. The season itself becomes one of the clearest distinctions between the announced Japan options. The supplied information does not list specific Japanese ports, departure cities, or voyage lengths. Those details will need to come from the individual itineraries when comparing sailings. ### Spring Sailings Align with Cherry Blossom Season Spring provides one of the two seasonal settings identified for Celebrity's Japan programme. Celebrity says the sailings will give guests a taste of cherry blossom season. For travellers interested in visiting Japan during this period, the spring departures provide a specific part of the programme to examine. Exact experiences will depend on the dates and destinations included in an individual voyage. The announcement does not promise specific blossom conditions at particular ports. It establishes spring as one of the seasonal periods during which Celebrity Millennium will sail in Japan. ### Autumn Brings a Different Seasonal Setting Celebrity will also operate Japan sailings during autumn, with the cruise line associating this period with hibiscus season. This gives travellers another time of year to consider aboard Celebrity Millennium. The contrast between spring and autumn provides a straightforward way to begin comparing the Japan programme. Preferred dates and the individual itinerary will remain important when selecting a voyage. Celebrity has not provided further route details in the supplied announcement. The confirmed information centres on Millennium operating during both seasonal periods. ## Southeast Asia Adds Winter Sailings Across Two Ships Southeast Asia forms another part of Celebrity's regional season, with winter sailings planned aboard Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Millennium. The announced destinations include Bangkok, Bali, and Hanoi, alongside further ports not identified in the supplied source. This broadens the programme beyond the Sydney and Auckland departures and seasonal Japan voyages. It also places Solstice and Millennium in more than one part of Celebrity's 2028-2029 regional schedule. ### Solstice and Millennium Will Operate Winter Sailings Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Millennium will both operate Southeast Asia cruises during the winter. Two ships will therefore feature across this part of the programme. Millennium also operates the spring and autumn Japan sailings. Solstice appears among the voyages departing from Sydney or Auckland as well as the winter Southeast Asia schedule. The supplied information does not provide the precise operating sequence for either ship. Individual departure dates will show how each vessel fits into the wider season. ### Bangkok, Bali, and Hanoi Feature in the Programme Celebrity has named Bangkok, Bali, and Hanoi among the destinations included in its Southeast Asia winter sailings. The three destinations provide an early indication of the geographic range within the programme. For travellers, the specific combination of ports on each itinerary will be an important comparison point. Different sailings might suit different destination priorities even when they operate during the same broader season. Celebrity has indicated that further destinations are included beyond the three named locations. The supplied announcement does not identify those additional calls, so individual itineraries remain the appropriate source for those details. ![Celebrity New Zealand](https://blog.swblack.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/Celebrity%20New%20Zealand.png?width=795&height=447&name=Celebrity%20New%20Zealand.png) [Image courtesy of Celebrity Cruises](https://www.celebritycruises.com/au/cruises?search=startDate:2028-10-01~2028-10-31,2028-11-01~2028-11-30,2028-12-01~2028-12-31,2029-01-01~2029-01-31,2029-02-01~2029-02-28,2029-03-01~2029-03-31,2029-04-01~2029-04-30|visiting:OCAN&country=AUS¤cy=AUD) ### Seasonal Timing Separates the Asia Options Celebrity's wider Asia schedule places Japan sailings in spring and autumn, while Southeast Asia sailings operate during winter. This gives travellers a clear seasonal distinction when comparing the two parts of the programme. Destination preference remains central, but timing and ship choice also shape the decision. Millennium appears across both Japan and Southeast Asia, while Solstice joins the winter Southeast Asia programme. The announced schedule, therefore, offers several combinations of region, season, and ship. Individual itineraries will provide the final details needed to compare those options. --- With Sydney and Auckland departures, seasonal Japan voyages, and Southeast Asia winter cruises all announced, comparing individual sailings is the practical next step. Use[Cruise Finder](https://cruisefinder.swblack.com.au/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) to review available voyages and assess departure dates, cruise lengths, and itineraries against your travel plans. Start with the region and season you prefer, then compare the individual voyage details. This approach helps separate the four-to-14-night Sydney and Auckland departures from the seasonal programmes operating in Japan and Southeast Asia. ## Choose the Celebrity Sailing That Fits Your Regional Plans The **Celebrity Cruises 2028-2029** season gives travellers several distinct ways to approach Australia, Asia, and Japan. There are 23 voyages departing from Sydney or Auckland aboard Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice, with durations ranging from four to 14 nights. Celebrity Millennium adds spring and autumn Japan sailings, while Southeast Asia provides another option during winter aboard Solstice and Millennium. Bangkok, Bali, and Hanoi are among the destinations already named for the Southeast Asia programme.
