The event formed part of Carnival Cruise Line’s broader Halloween programme, which brings seasonal activities to sailings throughout the month. Carnival Encounter Brings Halloween Family Fun to Brisbane 7:23 Guests joined a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt and a special Thriller dance class led by Carnival performers. Across the wider programme, [**Halloween sailings**](https://www.carnival.com/funtastic-holiday-cruises/frightfully-fun-halloween-cruises) also include costume contests, deck parties, trick-or-treat experiences, and family-friendly activities for guests to enjoy together. The Brisbane event provides a clear example of how Carnival brings those seasonal elements into the onboard programme. ![frightfully-fun-halloween-activities-lightbox-2](https://blog.swblack.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/frightfully-fun-halloween-activities-lightbox-2.jpg?width=804&height=300&name=frightfully-fun-halloween-activities-lightbox-2.jpg) [Image courtesy of Carnival Cruiseline](https://www.carnival.com/funtastic-holiday-cruises/frightfully-fun-halloween-cruises) ## Halloween Becomes Part of the Cruise Experience Carnival is extending Halloween beyond a single themed event. Sailings throughout the month incorporate seasonal entertainment, giving families several ways to join the celebration while at sea. The programme keeps the focus on familiar Halloween activities delivered through a cruise setting. ### Costumes Set the Tone on Board Costumes played a central role in the Brisbane celebration. Families joined an event shaped around Halloween through dress-up activities and festive surroundings. Decorations added to the setting, while Carnival’s wider Halloween schedule includes costume contests across participating sailings. Guests therefore have another activity linked directly to the seasonal theme. Dressing up becomes one of several shared elements available to families and friends travelling together. ### Trick-or-Treating Moves Into the Cruise Setting Guests took part in a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt during the Brisbane event. Trick-or-treat experiences also form part of Carnival’s broader Halloween programme throughout the month. The scavenger-hunt format adds a participatory activity to the celebration. Guests join the experience while following the Halloween theme. It brings a familiar seasonal tradition into the onboard programme while keeping the activity family-friendly. ### Halloween Deck Parties Add a Social Element Carnival’s month-long programme also includes Halloween deck parties. These events sit alongside costume contests, trick-or-treating, and other themed entertainment. The deck parties give guests another shared event within the wider programme. Families and friends have several ways to participate beyond individual activities. Carnival therefore spreads the Halloween theme across different experiences throughout the month. ![frightfully-fun-halloween-kids-teens-lightbox](https://blog.swblack.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/frightfully-fun-halloween-kids-teens-lightbox.jpg?width=796&height=297&name=frightfully-fun-halloween-kids-teens-lightbox.jpg) [Image courtesy of Carnival Cruiseline](https://www.carnival.com/funtastic-holiday-cruises/frightfully-fun-halloween-cruises) ## Live Activities Keep Families Involved The Brisbane celebration focused strongly on participation. Carnival used guided activities and themed entertainment to give guests several ways to join the event directly. ### A Thriller Dance Class Gets Guests Moving A special Thriller dance class formed one of the featured activities. Carnival performers led the session as part of the Halloween programme. The class brought guests directly into the entertainment. Participants joined the activity rather than watching a performance alone. The session also supported Carnival’s wider focus on experiences shared by family and friends. ### Carnival Performers Lead the Experience Carnival performers played an active role during the Brisbane event. Their involvement gave the Thriller session a live entertainment component while guests took part in the activity. The approach connected the seasonal theme with guided onboard entertainment. Guests participated while the performers led the session. The event therefore combined Halloween programming with direct guest involvement. ### Family-Friendly Activities Remain at the Centre Carnival describes its wider Halloween programme as family-friendly. The line-up includes costumes, trick-or-treat experiences, themed entertainment, deck parties, and other seasonal activities. This range gives groups more than one way to join the celebration. Costume contests offer a different type of participation from scavenger hunts or dance activities. The common thread is a Halloween programme built around experiences families and friends share together. ## Halloween Offers a Themed First Step Into Cruising Carnival assistant vice president of sales and marketing Anton Loeb described a Halloween sailing as a great introduction to cruising for people who have not cruised before. He also linked the programme with growing demand for experiences bringing family and friends together. ### A Familiar Celebration Frames the First Cruise The Halloween programme gives first-time guests a recognisable seasonal theme within their cruise. Costumes, trick-or-treating, deck parties, and themed entertainment are all named parts of Carnival’s programme. Loeb specifically presented this type of sailing as an introduction to cruising. The activities give newcomers a defined seasonal programme to experience while aboard. Halloween therefore becomes part of how Carnival presents the cruise to guests trying the holiday format for the first time. ![frightfully-fun-halloween-special-entertainment-lightbox](https://blog.swblack.com.au/hs-fs/hubfs/frightfully-fun-halloween-special-entertainment-lightbox.jpg?width=791&height=295&name=frightfully-fun-halloween-special-entertainment-lightbox.jpg) [Image courtesy of Carnival Cruiseline](https://www.carnival.com/funtastic-holiday-cruises/frightfully-fun-halloween-cruises) ### Shared Experiences Reflect Growing Demand Loeb said Carnival is seeing growing demand for experiences that bring family and friends together in fun and memorable ways. The Brisbane event reflected this focus through activities built around shared participation. The scavenger hunt, dance class, costumes, and wider family entertainment all support this approach. Guests have several opportunities to join the programme alongside the people they are travelling with. Halloween provides the common theme across those experiences. ### The Forsythe Family Reflects the Event’s Focus Jed, John, and Kerry Forsythe were pictured celebrating Halloween aboard Encounter. Their participation reflects the family focus of the Brisbane event. The celebration included costumes, trick-or-treating, a dance class, decorations, and family entertainment. These elements match the broader Halloween programme running across Carnival sailings throughout the month. The Forsythe family therefore reflects the type of group experience highlighted in Carnival’s comments. --- If a themed cruise appeals to your family, our[**Cruise Finder**](https://cruisefinder.swblack.com.au/) gives you a practical place to review relevant Carnival sailings.
